Apple nachos is a fast, healthy, delicious snack that is kid friendly! With endless topping options, it will surely become favorite snack in your household. I remember being in preschool and my teachers loved to serve us apples and peanut butter. I loved it so much, I went home requesting it from my mom, who at the time was so confused. Apples and peanut butter?! Ok, kid. Sure enough, I gobbled it up. She shocked herself when she tried it as she loved it as well. My mom has always fed us fairly healthy things and this was just one more to add to the list! Since my childhood, apples and peanut butter have slowly made their debut everywhere. People have found new ways to eat apples. I’m quite ok with it because I love them! “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” right? Isn’t that how that saying goes? I have no doubt your child will love them too. The best part is they can make their own! Let them decide on their own toppings! Just slice up the apple, lay out your parent approved toppings and let the kids make their own “nachos.” Apple nachos that is! They’ll love having it as a snack or maybe even a daring weekend breakfast! A fast kid friendly snack for after school even. These Apple Nachos are so quick and easy to make. I whipped these up in less than 10 minutes. You can even try baking the apples for an even more delicious treat! There’s tons of toppings to choose from to make them as healthy or less healthy. Toppings: I microwave the toppings like peanut butter, nutella, and almond butter a few seconds in the microwave so I can drizzle them over the apples. You can also melt marshmallow fluff as well instead of using the mini marshmallows. I prefer using the mini marshmallows to wipe up the toppings left on the plate 🙂 Certainly! Of course it’s always better to make and serve right before, you can certainly make this ahead of time. I don’t recommend making more than a few hours before. After you cut the apple, coat the apple in lemon juice or fruit fresh. Although, this will provide a little lemon taste, this will help prevent the apple from turning brown. Using apple slicer or knife, cut apple and lay slices on a plate. Add desired toppings. These are great to bring to a party. People love having a snack that is refreshing and sweet. I hear no complaints about this tasty treat and I never have any come home. I love adding little bits of salty to go with the sweet.
