These Cranberry Ombre’ Sparklers are as good as they sound and look ravishing! Exactly what I need to ring in the new year! What’s better than a sparkling cocktail? An Ombré Cranberry Sparkler, and it’s as refreshing as it is pretty! This fresh cranberry cocktail recipe is also ridiculously easy to make! All you need is a bottle of champagne, fresh cranberries, Christmas colored sugar. Keep reading for the full recipe. Technically, these could be called Cranberry Mimosas…but we already did those on Day 1 of Christmas drinks with vanilla vodka. Ombre Sparkler sounds so much more fun. The ombre effect is super easy to achieve. I made these to be for Christmas but they could just as easily be made as a New Year’s Eve cocktail or Valentine’s day cocktail. Basically what I’m saying is, you can drink them year round. Obviously. This Cranberry Ombre’ Sparkler is made with fresh cranberries, and champagne. A delightful holiday cocktail that is perfect for bringing in the new year! In a small/medium saucepan, heat cranberries, sugar and water together. As the mixture starts to boil, the cranberries will pop. Bring to a boil on high heat, and then reduce to a simmer and let cook for approximately 15-17 minutes. The cranberries will become soft and a deep red syrup will form. Making sure it cooks down enough is essential to keeping the ombre effect. Take off of the heat. You can choose to drain the cranberries, keeping the syrup in a separate bowl or keep them together. Set both aside and allow to cool. Once the mixture(s) have cooled, spoon 4 tbsp of the cranberries/syrup into the champagne flute. Tilt champagne and pour champagne to where it hits the glass instead of the cranberry syrup first. Garnish with fresh cranberries, a sprig of rosemary or any other fruit. Enjoy! For sugar rim, dip into lemon juice or champagne and then into the sugar crystals before adding the cranberries and champagne.
