Here’s a cute but simple idea for a savings jar to help you save money for a trip whether it is a honeymoon, graduation trip or normal vacation. Well everyone, now that the cat is out of the bag, here I am tell you. I got married this past weekend. We decided to have a small ceremony with family and then have close friends over that evening. My friends all thought it was our engagement party but we surely shocked them when we told them we got hitched earlier that day. Happy anniversary to us! Anyways, back to the honeymoon fund jar. How cute is this?! Just a simple gal with a simple jar and her cricut. I have to say my cricut opened up a world of possibilities. My husband had no idea what he got himself into when he bought me this for Christmas one year. It’s helped me make over $10K as a side gig for the past two years! Once I got engaged, I knew I wanted to keep my wedding small and simple. I also knew I wanted to make as much as I could without going crazy. So here’s the first of my wedding craft series. Our Honeymoon fund jar. I used Pinterest and Google to figure out what I would like on my jar. I didn’t want it to say specifically honeymoon. This is only because I would like to use the jar again for other adventures, and that’s why I started to look more towards “adventure” being the wording. I bought this jar at Hobby Lobby. It was $7.99 but I had the handy dandy coupon for 40% off so I really got it for $4. So, overall I made this with less than $6! I’d say that wedding on a budget material! Alternative options: You can get stencils and paints the words on it as well, or just use paint pens and free hand it. Here’s some jar options: Now off to do more crafty things! Stay tuned for the next wedding craft in the series. Other Wedding crafts: DIY Wooden Wedding Guest Board Want some travel ideas? Go Here Want some date night ideas? Go Here Want more crafty things? DIY Honeymoon Fund Savings Jar
Since my husband and I both already had our own places when we met, when we moved in together, we had to get rid of many things. We all of sudden had double the furniture and plates, utensils, tvs, etc. So needless to say we didn’t want to register for things. We decided if people would like to give us a gift, they could buy:
1. Walmart gift cards ( because hey! It’s Walmart. We can use it for gas, groceries or other household items.)
OR
2. Give us a gift card or something for a really great date night. ( because we love new date nights – See all our fun date night ideas here).
OR
3. They could contrubute to the honeymoon fund jar ( to send us on a lovely vacation somewhere amazing!)
