Here is an extensive review and guide for Dreams Delight Playa Bonita Panama. Learn all the ins and outs of this all-inclusive resort and what you can expect with your stay here in Panama City, Panama. Dreams Delight is a all inclusive spa and resort located about 12 miles outside of downtown Panama. This resort offers enough activities, restaurants and ammenities that you don’t have to ever leave the resort. It is very similar to a cruise in everything is all inclusive, but you are on land. Dreams Delight Playa Bonita is located about 40 minutes from the Tocumen International Airport (PTY). It’s about 37.9km or 23.5 miles from the airport and 18.5km (11.5 miles) from downtown Panama City. Address: KM 7 Road to Veracruz, Playa Bonita Phone: +1 866-237-3267 You can purchase a package with flight and hotel fees included. This will provide you with transport to and from the airport making your stay easy peasy. You can also use Uber or a taxi as well. PRO TIP: Leaving Panama airport to head back to the states, we went through metal detectors and bag screenings twice. You get checked once when you enter the airport and once at your gate before you get on the plane. (This included taking off shoes, laptops and electronics had to have their cases/skins removed as well). You are also not allowed to bring your drinks aboard the plane even if you just bought them in the airport. Panama has two seasons. Dry season and a rainy season. Dry season is December-March, which is the most popular time to go. Wet season is April-December. At this time, rain comes and goes through most days. We went mid September and had some rain almost everyday. Our last day was beautiful. Most of the rain did not last all day, so we did get to enjoy about half of each day outside. Enjoy the many different restaurants right on site. They range from super casual to elegant and formal attire. Dress down for some causal quick bites or dress up and go on a romantic dinner date. The choice is yours! Restaurants are listed from casual to formal. Some of the restaurant have dress code of casual during the day to formal or casual elegance at night. Market Cafe is located in the same place as Portofino. It offers a wide variety of breakfast. From waffles, pancakes, french toast to eggs, sausage, potatoes and fruit – there’s something perfect for you. My favorite was the waffle bar and look at all the accessories you can use to doctor up your waffle! With about a dozen different toppings and syrups, I decided to make each quarter of my waffle different because .. well. It’s vacation 🙂 Seaside Grill is out by the ocean and pool which gives amazing views and scenery while you enjoy a delicious meal. There are waiters to provide you with drinks and get you anything you need. The food is set up buffet style for lunch. It offers an array of items including an extensive salad bar, delicious desserts, rice, vegetables, meats, fish, chips, salsas and soups. A simple coffee shop with a neighborhood like feel to it. It’s located near the gift shop right next to the lobby. They offer espresso, latte, machiato but really it’s all an espresso. There is a variety of muffins, and pastries to choose from along with fresh fruit. Barefoot grill is located by Seaside Grill. It offers outdoor seating and serves things like hamburgers, hotdogs, and quesadillas. A nice italian restaurant located close the lobby. The style is modern and simple with a very neutral tone palatte of brown, cream, and gray. The staff was very welcoming and service was on point. They have a few choices of salads, soups, entrees and desserts to choose from and they bring bread, water and your choice of drink. Oceana seafood restaurant is located on the water on the second story to give you some breathtaking views. Dress up a bit for a nice dinner out by the water. It’s serves a variety of seafood, pasta and steaks. Bordeaux is an adult only french restaurant. This one is the most formal of them all and offers . There is some extra fees with this restaurant depending on what room you booked. They were closed the one day we planned to get fancy and go but others in our group that went loved it. PRO TIP: There is also room service for all hours of the day. It is included in some room packages. If you don’t have it included, you can still order room service, but it’s $25/person. Casual: Bermudas (long shorts or capri pants), sneakers/tennis shoes or sandals. No sleeveless shirts for men. Women must wear a bathing suit wrap or cover-up. **I was in regular shorts not long shorts and they let me in with no issues. Your results may vary** Casual Elegance: Sneakers/tennis shoes or dress sandals, dress shirts with short sleeves or collared shirts. No sleeveless shirts or flip-flops. Formal: Men must wear long pants, collared shirts and dress shoes. Women must wear blouses, skirts, slacks or dresses, with dress shoes. Enjoy 4 different bars and lounges situated all about the resort. Circle bar right off the lobby that offers ample seating at the bar and around the bar. Grab yourself a frozen cocktail or the drink of day and enjoy the company of friends. We love to hang at this bar as it was our meetup spot for everything. Desires is to the left of the lobby downstairs and then down a hallway past meeting rooms. It offers a DJ and dance floor for some epic club adventures. Depending on the crowd and if there are any wedding parties at the resort, it may or may not be packed. Since we brought a crowd, we had a lot of fun hanging out in there. Barracuda bar is located right next to Seaside Grill which is near the pool area. Enjoy a cocktail while basking in the sun, or while lounging in the pool. Manatee Bar is actually connected to the Barracuda bar. Swim right up to the Manatees bar and you’ll never have to leave the pool. There is even seats in the water for you to enjoy your beverage right at the bar. PRO TIP: An adult section is located right behind the seaside grill that offers a huge pool, bar, cabanas and lounge chairs for adults only to enjoy. This was our favorite hangout and the bartender was beyond fabulous! Zancheliano (aka Sanchez) was beyond accomodating. He was making us drinks and bringing them right to us before we even had to ask for another. He also brought over some food for us to eat while we were at the pool. All these things were above and beyond his job description and we can’t thank him enough for our great experience. We took care of him as well. DAILY FEATURED ACTIVITIES: Each day they have a sheet filled with all the different activities featured that day. There were sheets in English or Spanish and located on the front lobby desk. They have something new and different almost every hour, like jungle hike, karoke, etc. There’s also a feature for a drink of the day as well. In addition to these daily features, you can revel in the normal everyday ammenities. *Additional costs may apply. EXPLORER KIDS PROGRAM: The kids program is included with the Unlimited Luxury Program. TURTLE RELEASE PROGRAM: They also have a Turtle Release Program that runs July through December. Guest can sometimes witness this amazing event of releasing the baby turtles back into the ocean. PRO-TIP: One weekend in September, Panama City holds a Black Weekend, similar to Black Friday in the United States. This is where they offer tons of deals and discounts in the malls up to 70% off. Here is what you can expect: The rooms are spacious with a sitting area next to the bed. There is also suites where you can have a sitting room as well separate from your bedroom. Each room has at least a partial ocean view to a full ocean view with a balcony. We had the partial view room. The room has a safe, bathrobes, coffee pot, mini fridge stocked with some juice, sodas, water and some panama light beer. The bathrooms come with all your ammenities to make your stay enjoyable. A few of the following: Shampoo, condition, soap, q-tips, a comb, mini sewing kit, deet towel wipes, nail filer, hair dryer, drinking glasses etc. I hope this gave you way more information than you were looking for and providing you with all the best tips to make your stay more comfortable.
