New Orleans Movie Tour is a great experience for locals and tourists to see all the movies filmed in New Orleans. Tour locations where films were made, NOLA style! Summers in New Orleans can be brutal! So HOT and Humid! This is definitely something I kept in mind when planning our date for this month. For starters, I wanted it to be something new but not to where we were melting like the wicked witch of the west. Off to searching I went on my favorite tool: Google. Lo and behold, I found this gem! I didn’t even know this existed and I’ve lived in New Orleans my whole life. (See more unique things to do in NOLA here) It is legit when they say there is ALWAYS something to do in New Orleans. I knew New Orleans was a hotspot for filming movies but I didn’t realize the magnitude of it! I was getting more and more excited about this date as I read about it. (Mostly because it would seem a little outdoorsy and educational but with air condition. Definitely my kind of deal!) New Orleans Movie Tour is an awesome tour for locals AND tourists, especially if you are into movies. Did you know that over 200 movies and TV shows have been filmed in New Orleans? That’s right over 200 tv shows and movies filmed in New Orleans! That is a ton, which gives you plenty to see on the tour. Jonathan, our tour guide and the owner, was a fantastic tour guide. Our tour day was the same day as a big event in New Orleans (go figure!) and we were the only ones to sign up for his 10 passenger van. He was kind enough to take us out anyway to enjoy the site of New Orleans and really get a private tour. We stopped at certain spots, and he’d show us clips of different movies. The clips were timed exactly to place we were and really gave us a feel of the action. He showed us where movies such as: Runaway Jury, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, NCIS: New Orleans, and Treme were filmed. He even offered to take us to places or sites of movies that we wanted to see to really give us a custom tour just for us. (PRO TIP: Be sure to do your research if you want to do any in particular!) We were bad students and did not do our homework; so we just let him take us to places he thought we’d enjoy. (The set of Jurassic Park here in New Orleans) The tour lasts about 2 hours and costs about $43 now. I think at the time, we snagged a Groupon. Always check Groupon for some great deals in your own city. He hosts tours almost everyday, so no excuse not to check it out! Well July, you’ve been great, but HOT. It’s onto some hot August nights for our next date where we cool off on the bayou! Share with friends! See more Dates: April Date May Date June Date August Date October Date

We stopped for a break about halfway through, it was a time to stop, stretch our legs and get water at the visitor center. After a 5-10 minute break, we continued on our way and we saw the locations of Planet of the Apes, 22 Jump Street, A Streetcar Named Desire, and many more.
