The hearty chili recipe is filled with diced tomatoes, beans, meats and tons of spices to really bring out the flavor the all-time favorite recipe for those cold winter months. If there was a dish that my husband loves and could eat every day, it would be this recipe. Everyone that tries it, loves this hearty chili and always asks for the recipe. Loaded with ground turkey, ground beef, and Italian sausage, mixed with chunks of tomatoes, chili beans, and spices. Absolutely delicious! It’s one of those dishes you can’t have just one bowl. Add in some cheese and tortilla chips for the ultimate meal. Chili is pure comfort food. It screams winter but really I love it all year round. If you read any of my other recipes, you’ll know I love soups that are hearty and chunky (like my delicious egg roll soup, and my spinach, sausage, and tortellini soup.) Chili is no less in this category. Probably why it’s my favorite too! This chili is so easy to make and you can do many things with it. We love to eat our chili-like its a salsa or some nachos. We scoop some chili in a bowl, add a bit of cheese, and then leave the spoon behind and grab some tortilla chips to scoop the chili out to eat. Other ways to eat the chili: The toppings option is really up to your creative mind. But here are some toppings to get you started. This chili can be perfected to your taste preference. Although I have no doubt you’ll love the way it is, here are some more ways you can make this chili your own. Abso-freaking-lutely. Hence why this makes such a big pot of it. You get some for a few days and then some to freeze for when you don’t feel like cooking or have the time. You can reheat your chili for a fantastic homecooked meal. Honestly, this is one of the recipes where it just tastes better as leftovers. It does have many ingredients to this chili but all of them make for a truly amazing combination. A hearty chili made with ground beef, ground turkey, italian sausage, loads of chili beans, tomatoes and spices. Your new favorite chili recipe! In a large stockpot, heat oil and cook turkey, beef, and sausage till brown. Drain excess grease. * Add in onion, bell peppers, celery and cook till onions start becoming translucent. Add in garlic, and jalapenos (optional) I take out most seeds but leave a few for spice. Add in beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, bouillon cubes, Worcestershire sauce, and stir. Add in spices ( chili powder, cumin, cayenne, basil, oregano, paprika, sugar, salt, and pepper.*** Allow to simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Soup may simmer longer. Longer the better. Spoon soup into a bowl, add a sprinkle of shredded cheese and serve with tortilla chips or cornbread if desired. *If you are using lean meats 85 or higher, use 1 tbsp of oil. If you have less lean meat, no need for the oil. Drain off excess grease and then proceed to adding onions, bell peppers and celery. **If you are looking for a spicy chili but not overly spicy, remove most of the seeds from the jalapeno. If you prefer a mild chili, omit jalapeno altogether. ( I usually remove most seeds and it provides a nice spice in addition to the cayenne.) *** Start with minimal salt and pepper like the tsp of each. Allow the chili to simmer and taste again before adding extra. Chili taste better the next day as all the flavors fully meddle together then. Need more delicious recipes?
